This resolution will rescind the authority to fund and install harp lights around the Astor Hotel (924 East Juneau Avenue). The work was performed by Wisconsin Electric Power Company.
BODY:
Whereas, On July 30, 1996, the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted File Number 960577 approving installation of harp lights around the Astor Hotel;
Whereas, Said installation of harp lighting was done by Wisconsin Electric Power Company; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the funding and installation of said harp lighting be rescinded as follows:
"North side E. State St. - 120 feet m/l West of N. Cass St. to N. Cass St. (690-0022-0) File Number 960547: Install harp lighting. (Street Lighting Fund Number 71-521-060-0001 -- $9,400)
West side N. Cass St. - 240 feet m/l North of E. State St. to E. State St. (690-1022-9) File Number 960547: Install harp lighting. (Street Lighting Fund Number 71-521-060-0001 -- $14,050)
East side N. Marshall St. - 200 feet m/l North of E. Juneau Ave. to E. Juneau Ave. (690-2022-7) File Number 960547: Install harp lighting. (Street Lighting Fund Number 71-521-060-0001 -- $14,050)
West side N. Astor St. - 200 feet m/l North of E. Juneau Ave. to E. Juneau Ave. (690-3022-5) File Number 960547: Install harp lighting. (Street Lighting Fund Number 71-521-060-0001 -- $14,050)
North side E. Juneau Ave. - N. Marshall St. to N. Astor St. (690-4022-3) File Number 960547: Install harp lighting. (Street Lighting Fund Number 71-521-060-0001 -- $23,450)"

Further Resolved, That the proper city officers comply with the requirements of File Number 881665, said File being the Guidelines for the Control of Capital Expenditures; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the owner of the Astor Hotel be billed $1,218.04 for engineering cost between resolution adoption and Wisconsin Electric Power Company involvement.
