Title

Substitute resolution approving construction of nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City construction cost estimated to be $459,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $542,000.

Analysis

This resolution directs the installation and construction of certain public improvements which have been determined to be nonassessable by the Commissioner of Public Works.  The City construction cost of the projects approved by this resolution is estimated to be $459,000.  The total estimated cost of these projects is $542,000.

Body

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and

 

Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:

 

8th Aldermanic District

 

S. 32nd St. - W. Scott St. to W. Madison St. (SM495050037) File Number 050136:  Relay combined sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $103,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $114,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

 

S. 33rd. St. - Pt 400’ N of W. Scott St. to W. Scott St. (SM495050039) File Number 050136:  Relay combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund $42,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $52,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

 

W. Madison St. - S. 32nd St. to S. 33rd St. (SM495060016) File Number 051658:  Relay combined sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $ 69,000) 

The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $81,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

S. 31st St. - W. Drury La. to W. Paine St. (WT410061031) File Number 041695: 

Relay water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $65,000) The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $75,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

 

S. 40th St. - W. Euclid Av. to 200’ S/O W. Euclid Av. (WT410061015) File Number 041695:  Relay water main (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $55,000) The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $65,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

 

S. 41st St. - W. Euclid Av. to 210’ S/O W. Euclid Av. (WT410061014) File Number 041695:  Relay water main (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $75,000) The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $85,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

 

W. Paine St. - S. 31st St. to W. Lakefield Dr. (WT410061032) File Number 041695:  Relay water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $ 30,000) The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $40,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

 

W. Stack Ct. - W. Stack Dr. to 160’ S/O W. Stack Dr. (WT410061013) File Number 041695:  Abandon water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $20,000) The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $30,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

 

; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
