Title

Resolution amending Common Council File Number 021061, a resolution relating to an Urban Nonpoint Source and Storm Water Management Grant for construction of “Best Management Practices” at various City yards.

Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works to expend money from a DPW capital project account to fund the $150,000 local share of an Urban Nonpoint Source and Storm Water Management Grant for construction of “Best Management Practices” at various City yards.  Under the resolution that originally approved this grant, the local share was to be funded by borrowing, rather than a capital project account.

Body

Whereas, On November 26, 2002, the Common Council adopted File Number 021061, a resolution authorizing the Department of Public Works to apply for and accept a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Urban Nonpoint Source and Storm Water Management Grant in the amount of $150,000 to fund the construction of “Best Management Practices” at various City yards; and

Whereas, Under the terms of the grant program, the City is required to match the State grant with a $150,000 City contribution; and

Whereas, File Number 021061 specified that the $150,000 local share for this grant was to be funded by borrowing; and

Whereas, The Department of Public Works desires to use funds from an existing Department of Public Works capital account, rather than borrowing, to fund the $150,000 City share of this grant project; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that Common Council File Number 021061 is amended by deleting the last “Further Resolved” clause and inserting the following clauses in lieu thereof:

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to commit the following capital project account funds for this project:
