Resolution accepting ten buildable parcels of land from the bankruptcy court representing the Community Development Corporation of Wisconsin and authorizing the sale of said parcels for new residential construction, in the 17th Aldermanic District. (DCD Real Estate)
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Department of City Development to accept title to and sell ten buildable parcels of land.
Body
Whereas, The Community Development Corporation of Wisconsin ("CDC") purchased ten parcels of land from the City of Milwaukee to build single family homes for sale to owner-occupants; and
 
Whereas, Due to a bankruptcy petition, the project never proceeded to fruition and the parcels remain vacant; and
 
Whereas, Said parcels are located in an active redevelopment area, namely the City/NIDC/WHEDA Lindsay Heights project area; and
 
Whereas, The Neighborhood Improvement Development Corporation ("NIDC") has petitioned the bankruptcy court to release the following parcels of land for return to the City of Milwaukee's real estate inventory for inclusion in the Lindsay Heights project:

Whereas, The Department of City Development ("DCD") recommends acceptance of title to and sale of said parcels provided that title, free and clear of any and all encumbrances, is delivered to the DCD; and
 
Whereas, The City Plan Commission has approved the acceptance and sale of said parcels; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that said parcels are approved for acceptance into the City's inventory provided that clear title, free of any and all liens, encumbrances, taxes, charges or any other assessments affecting title, is received by the Department of City Development; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That the DCD is authorized and directed to sell said parcels to NIDC and/or third party designees for new residential construction.
