Resolution authorizes the Health Department to accept, and fund a Healthy Wisconsin Families grant from Meta House in the amount of $24,500, with a City share of $0 and a grantor share of $24,500.The funding will provide support for Meta House’s work with pregnant and parenting people with substance misuse issues in tandem with the BOMB Doula program’s work around infant mortality and maternal morbidity.

 

Body

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from Meta House to provide support for Meta House’s work with pregnant and parenting people with substance misuse issues in tandem with MHD’s BOMB Doula program’s work around infant mortality and maternal morbidity.

; and

 

Whereas, The operation of this grant program from 10/1/2023 to 9/30/2025 will cost $24,500 comprised of $24,500, or 100% grantor share and $0, or 0% City share; now, therefore, be it;

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, that the Commissioner of Health or their designee is authorized to execute the grant agreement for these funds; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

 

1.  Commit funds within the Project/Grant parent account of the 2023 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled Healthy Wisconsin Families-Meta House:

2.  Create the necessary Special Revenue Fund Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project Levels; budget to these Project/Grant values the amounts required under the grant agreement; and be it

 

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted to the Health Department which is authorized to:

 

1.                     Expend from the amount appropriated sums for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date;

 

2.                     Expend from the 2023 grant budget funds for training and out-of-town travel by departmental staff; and, be it
