Analysis
This ordinance increases the amounts charged for advanced life support (ALS) services by the Fire Department. The increases follow the recommendations of the Milwaukee County Association of Fire Chiefs to increase all but 2 of the current fees by 2.1%, which is the change in the Medical Care Commodities and Medical Care Service CPI for 2016.
In addition, this ordinance increases the amount charged for mileage. Milage is defined as the distance traveled with the patient in the ambulance from point of orgin to destination. The rate is proposed to increase by 7.0%, to $17.02 per mile.
