This resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works/Buildings and Fleet Division to accept $40,000 from the Milwaukee Recreation Fund to be used towards improvements at the 97th and Thurston and the Emigh Playfield children's play areas.
 
 
BODY:
Whereas, The 97th and Thurston and the Emigh Playfield children's play areas have obsolete and unsafe play equipment; and
 
Whereas, The Milwaukee Recreation Fund was established to assist in making these types of improvements together with City or donated funds; and
 
Whereas, The Department of Public Works/Buildings and Fleet Division has sufficient funds in existing project accounts to cover the remaining costs of the proposed improvements to these play areas; and
 
Whereas, The Recreation Fund Committee, consisting of the Mayor, the President of the Common Council, and the Commissioner of Public Works, has authorized this expenditure in accordance with the agreement with the Milwaukee Foundation; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Department of Public Works/Buildings and Fleet Division is authorized to accept funds from the Milwaukee Foundation Corporation, Milwaukee Recreation Fund, for improvements to the 97th and Thurston and the Emigh Playfield children's play areas in accordance with established City policies and procedures for acceptance of such contributions; and be it
 
Further Resolved, That upon receipt and deposit of these funds, the City Comptroller is hereby authorized and directed to establish a special account within the Department of Public Works/Buildings and Fleet Division's budget for the expenditure of the contribution; and be it
 
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer appropriations and estimated revenue from the Special Purpose Account for Contributions, 0001-2110-0001-006300, and the Estimated Revenue Account for Contributions, 0001-2110-0001-009850, to the Department of Public Works/Buildings and Fleet Division's special account and the Department of Public Works/Buildings and Fleet Division's estimated revenue account, to be established by the City Comptroller, up to the amount of $40,000.
