Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of the School Children's Mental Health Grant. (Health Department)
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the School Children's Mental Health Grant project from the Milwaukee Mental Health Association in the amount of $5,000. The purpose of this project is to formalize a community partnership to improve the mental well-being of school children that will provide services to depressed Milwaukee school students who are underinsured and uninsured.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Milwaukee Mental Health Association to formalize a community partnership to improve the mental well-being of school children that will provide services to depressed Milwaukee school students who are underinsured and uninsured; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 01/01/03 to 08/31/03 would cost $5,000 entirely provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Milwaukee Mental Health Association is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2003 Special Revenue Accounts-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled School Children's Mental Health Grant:

2. Create the necessary Special Revenue Fund - Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project Levels; budget to these Project/Grant values the amount required under the grant agreement; and, be it
Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted to the Health Department which is authorized to:
1. Expend from the amount appropriated sums for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date;
2. Enter into subcontracts as detailed in the grant budget.
