Title
A substitute ordinance to further amend the 2018 offices and positions in the City Service.
Analysis
This substitute ordinance changes the rates of pay in the following departments:
City Attorney, Common Council - City Clerk’s Office, Fire Department, Health Department, Municipal Court, Department of Public Works
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 170681 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under “Health Department”, add footnote “(V)” to read as follows:
“(V) To expire 12/31/18 unless the Newborn Hearing Screening Supplemental Grant is extended. Partially funds one position of Public Health Nurse.”
Under “Family and Community Health Services Division,“PNCC/CCC/Newborn Screening Program”, add designation “(V)” to one position of “Public Health Nurse Coordinator (X)(G)(N)”.
Part 2. Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 170681 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2017 - January 1, 2017):
Under “Fire Department, Support Services Bureau Decision Unit, Technical Services/Dispatch Division”, delete eighteen positions of “Fire Equipment Dispatcher”, add eighteen positions of “Fire Dispatcher”, delete six positions of “Fire Equipment Dispatcher-Senior”, add six positions of “Fire Dispatcher-Senior”, delete two positions of “Fire Equipment Dispatcher (0.50 FTE)”, and add two positions of “Fire Dispatcher (0.50 FTE)”.
Part 3. Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 170681 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2018 - December 31, 2017):
Under “Common Council - City Clerk, Central Administration Division”, delete one position of “Workforce Development Specialist” and add one position of “Workforce Outreach Specialist”.
Under “Municipal Court, Management and Administration”, delete one position of “Court Administrative Coordinator”, delete one position of “Management Accounting Specialist”, add one position of “Court Business Manager”, and add one position of “Court Services Supervisor”.
Under “Department of Public Works - Administrative Services Division, Office of the Commissioner”, add one position of “Administrative Support Specialist”.
Under “Finance & Planning Section”, delete one position of “Accounting Assistant II”.
Under “Department of Public Works - Water Works, Water Quality Organization”, delete two positions of “Water Chemist” and add two positions of “Water Laboratory Technician”.
Part 4. Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 170681 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 7, 2018 - March 25, 2018):
Under “City Attorney, delete one position of “Special Assistant to the City Attorney (Y)”, add one position of “Personnel Officer”, and add one position of “Business Finance Officer (Y)”.
Under “Administrative Division”, delete one position of “Legal Office Assistant-Lead”, delete one position of “Legal Office Assistant-Senior”, and add one position of “Program Assistant I”.
Part 5. Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 170681 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 9, 2018 - April 22, 2018):
Under “Fire Department, Support Services Bureau Decision Unit, Technical Services/Dispatch Division”, delete one position of “Administrative Fire Lieutenant”, delete one position of “Network Coordinator-Senior”, delete two positions of “Database Specialist”, add one position of “Systems Analyst Senior”, add one position of “Functional Applications Analyst-Senior”, add two positions of “Systems Analyst-Assistant”, add designation “(A)” to one position of “Administrative Fire Captain”, and add footnote “(A)” to read as follows:
“(A) To be administratively reclassified to “Fire Information Systems Manager” when vacant.”
Part 6. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Part 7. The provisions of Part 2 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2017 (January 1, 2017)
Part 8. The provisions of Part 3 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2018 (December 31, 2017)
Part 9. The provisions of Part 4 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 7, 2018 (March 25, 2018)
Part 10. The provisions of Part 5 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 9, 2018 (April 22, 2018).
The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after its passage and publication.
Part 11. This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
