Analysis
This ordinance increases the amounts charged by private-sector ambulance service providers for Basic Life Support (BLS) and BLS-Emergency ambulance conveyances for patients who are city residents and non-residents. The increases are as follows:
1. For residents, a 4% increase from $655 to $681.
2. For non-residents, a 4% increase from $758 to $788.
In addition, this ordinance decreases the mileage charge from $19.28 per mile to $19.27. Mileage is defined as the distance traveled with the patient in the ambulance from point of origin to destination.
