This resolution authorizes the City of Milwaukee to enter into an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement with the City of Muskego for rights of access to and use of the new Muskego Police Department firing range. _____________________________________________

BODY:

Whereas, The City of Muskego will open a new firing range for the Muskego Police Department during the Fall of 1998; and

Whereas, The Milwaukee Police Department is desirous of obtaining access and use to the new Muskego Police Department firing range for recruit shotgun training, tactical unit training, and other necessary and/or incidental purposes; and

Whereas, The Milwaukee Police Department and Muskego Police Department have reached agreement as to the terms and conditions under which the Milwaukee Police Department shall be afforded the right of access and use to the new Muskego Police Department firing range for the above purposes; and

Whereas, The method for approving and memorializing the terms of said agreement is most appropriately provided by way of an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement pursuant to the terms of sec. 66.30 of the Wisconsin Statutes; and

Whereas, The attached Agreement entitled "Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement (City of Muskego Firearms Training Facility)" constitutes an appropriate agreement for said purposes, and its approval is in the best interests of the City of Milwaukee; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the agreement entitled "Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement (City of Muskego Firearms Training Facility)" is hereby APPROVED; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the proper City officials are authorized and directed to execute the "Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement (City of Muskego Firearms Training Facility)" and to take all necessary and proper measures in order to effectuate this implementation.
