Title

Substitute ordinance to further amend the 2006 rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service under control of the Common Council.

 

Analysis

This substitute ordinance makes rates of pay changes to the rates of pay to the following:

Un-represented, non-civilian Fire Management Employees, Health Department, Library, Department of Neighborhood Services and Department of Public Works-Operations Division.

 

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1. Section 2 of ordinance File Number 050456 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:

 

Under Salary Grade 007, add the title and footnote designation “Fleet Repair Supervisor III 3/.”

 

Under Salary Grade 008, delete the title “Automotive Mechanic Supervisor III.”

 

Under Salary Grade 011, delete the title “Vehicle and Equipment Repairs Manager.”

 

Under Salary Grade 013, add the title “Fleet Operations Manager.”

 

Part 2. Section 4 of ordinance File Number 050456 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:

 

Under Pay Range 309, add the title “Community Education Assistant.”

 

Part 3. Section 8 of ordinance File Number 050456 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2006 - January 1, 2006):

 

Under Pay Range 541, add the footnote designation “5/” following the title “Code Enforcement Inspector II” and add “5/” to read as follows: “One position filled by Lawrence Woytek to be paid at rates consistent with Pay Range 553.”

 

Under Pay Range 553, delete the title of “Special Compliance Inspector.”

 

Part 4. Section 22 of ordinance File Number 050456 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2004 - December 21, 2003):

 

Delete the current biweekly rates of pay under Pay Ranges 863-867 and substitute therefor the following:

Delete the current biweekly rates of pay under Pay Ranges 863-867 and substitute therefor the following:

Part 7. Section 23 of ordinance File Number 050456 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 5, 2006 - February 26, 2006):

 

Under Pay Range 906, delete footnote “1/” in its entirety and substitute the following footnote:

 

1/ Library Circulation Aides hired on or after Pay Period 5, 2006 (February 26, 2006) shall advance to the next succeeding step in the pay range after 520 hours of successful service upon recommendation by the department.  Library Circulation Aides hired prior to February 26, 2006, shall advance to the next succeeding step in the pay range step after four months of successful service upon recommendation by the department.”

 

Part  8.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed

 

Part  9.  The provisions of Part 4 of this ordinance are deemed to have been in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2004 (December 21, 2003).

 

The provisions of Part 5 of this ordinance are deemed to have been in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2005 (December 19, 2004).

 

The provisions of Parts 3 & 6 of this ordinance are deemed to have been in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2006 (January 1, 2006).

 

The provisions of Part 7 of this ordinance are deemed to have been in force and effect from and after Pay Period 5, 2006 (February 26, 2006).

 

The provisions of all other parts of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after the first day of the first pay period following passage and publication.

 

Part  10.  This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
