Title

Resolution amending Common Council File No. 200253 relative to the acceptance and funding of the Public Health Preparedness Centers for Disease Contral Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

 

Analysis

This resolution amends Common Council File # 200253 authorizing the Health Department to accept and fund the 2020-2021 Public Health Preparedness (CDC) Grant from the State of Wisconsin-Department of Health Services. The purpose of the grant is to assure that the Milwaukee Health Department is ready to respond to emergencies including terrorism, pandemic influenza, and other communicable disease outbreaks.  These emergency preparedness and response efforts are intended to support the National Response Plan (NRP) and the National Incident Management System (NIMS). 

 

BODY

Whereas, Common Council File # 200253 authorizes the Health Department accept and fund the 2020-2021 Public Health Preparedness (CDC) Grant from the State of Wisconsin-Department of Health Services for the purpose of respond to emergencies including terrorism, pandemic influenza, and other communicable disease outbreaks. This grant provided a grantor share total in of $319,908 with no city match; and

 

Whereas, the grantor share for this program is increases by $35,357; and the total cost is increased by $35,357; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that acceptance of this grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

 

1.  Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2020 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled 2020-2021 Public Health Preparedness (CDC) Grant:
