Title
Resolution authorizing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a Cost Sharing Agreement with Milwaukee County for the planned improvement of South 76th Street from West Waterford Avenue to West Oklahoma Avenue.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a Cost Sharing Agreement with Milwaukee County for the City of Milwaukee’s construction costs associated with the improvement of South 76th Street (CTH U) from West Waterford Avenue to West Oklahoma Avenue. This resolution also authorizes the City Comptroller to establish the necessary account for the City of Milwaukee’s estimated share of the construction costs on the project. The total cost of the project is approximately $3,100,000 of which the City of Milwaukee’s cost is approximately $45,000.
Body
Whereas, Milwaukee County’s Department of Public Works has scheduled the improvement of South 76th Street (CTH U) from West Waterford Avenue to West Oklahoma Avenue for the summer of 2007; and
Whereas, City of Milwaukee sanitary sewer manholes, communications and underground conduit manholes, and water gate valves lie within the paving limits and must be adjusted to meet the new paving grades; and
Whereas, Minor curb and gutter, sidewalk, topsoil, and sod work associated with City of Milwaukee utility relocations/alterations must also be conducted as part of the project; and
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee has requested and Milwaukee County has agreed to undertake that aforementioned work with their paving contractor in conjunction with their improvement project at City of Milwaukee cost; and
Whereas, Milwaukee County has prepared a Cost Sharing Agreement to address those costs that will be the responsibility of the City of Milwaukee as part of the project; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute a Cost Sharing Agreement with the Milwaukee County for its share of the construction costs associated with the improvement of South 76th Street (CTH U) from West Waterford Avenue to West Oklahoma Avenue, a copy of which is attached to Common Council File No. 070300, and is incorporated by reference as though set forth in full; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is hereby authorized to create within the Capital Projects Fund, Grant and Aid Projects, the necessary Project/Grant Chartfield Value for the City of Milwaukee’s share of the construction costs for the project (Expenditure) as follows:
