Analysis

This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable.  After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council.  The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $146,800 with the total cost estimated to be $1,341,800.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:

2nd Aldermanic District

W. Stark St. - N. 64th St. to N. 68th St. (SM495110534):  Sewer work prior to paving.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $2,000).  The total estimated cost for this project is $2,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2011-2012 construction season.

3rd Aldermanic District

Alley between N. Cramer St., E. Hampshire St., E. Hartford Ave., and N. Oakland Ave. (SM495110538):  Sewer work prior to paving.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $1,500).  The total estimated cost for this project is $1,500.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2011-2012 construction season.

W. McKinley Blvd. - N. 27th St. to N. 35th St. (SM495110539):  Sewer work prior to paving.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $70,000).  The total estimated cost for this project is $70,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2011-2012 construction season.

Area bounded by W. Congress St., W. Capitol Dr., N. Sherman Blvd., and N. 35th St. (#7) (SM494110105):  Sanitary sewer lining.  (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $1,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $694,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2011 construction season.

N. 42nd St. - W. Burleigh St. to W. Townsend St. (SM495110520):  Sewer work prior to paving.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $10,100, Additional Funds).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $50,100.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2011 construction season.

N. Alois St. - 175 feet m/l north of W. State St. to W. State St. (SM495110066):  Relay storm sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $1,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $75,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2011 construction season.

W. State St. - N. Alois St. to N. 50th St. (SM495110053):  Relay storm sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $1,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $125,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2011 construction season.

N. 44th St. - W. Blue Mound Rd. to W. Wells St. (SM495110515):  Sewer work prior to paving.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $700, Additional Funds).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $5,700.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2011-2012 construction season.

N. 50th St. - W. State St. to W. Juneau Ave. (SM495110052):  Relay storm sewer.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $1,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $260,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2011 construction season.

14th Aldermanic District

Alley between S. Austin St., S. Brisbane Ave., E. Euclid Ave., and E. Oklahoma Ave. (SM495110544):  Sewer work prior to paving.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $2,500).  The total estimated cost for this project is $2,500.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2011-2012 construction season.

Alley between S. Ellen St., S. Kinnickinnic Ave., E. Morgan Ave., and E. Vollmer Ave. (SM495110545):  Sewer work prior to paving.  (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $3,000).  The total estimated cost for this project is $3,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2011-2012 construction season.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
