Analysis

This substitute resolution authorizes and directs the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a revised project agreement to add the railroad work as part of the reconstruction of North 91st Street between West Flagg Avenue and West Mill Road and authorizes and directs the City Comptroller to transfer funds and create the necessary accounts for this work as part of the project costs.  The original project agreement for the project was approved by Common Council Resolution File Number 011166 on January 22, 2002.  The total railroad work for this project is estimated at $150,000, of which the City’s share is estimated to be $30,000.

Body

Whereas, Common Council Resolution File Number 011166, adopted January 22, 2002, authorized and directed the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a Project Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WISDOT) for the programming and reconstruction of the North 91st Street from West Flagg Avenue to West Mill Road; and

 

Whereas, It is federally mandated that railway crossings that fall within a roadway improvement project funded with Federal dollars be updated with the roadway improvement; and

 

Whereas, WISDOT has subsequently authorized the railroad work and has informed us that Federal/State funding for this project is available for construction; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, That the CPW is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a revised agreement with the WISDOT pertaining to cost participation for the railroad work in conjunction with the improvements of the aforementioned project; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Comptroller is hereby authorized and directed to create within the Capital Improvement Fund, Grant and Aid Projects, the necessary Project/Grant Chartfield Values for Railroad Work (State Project I.D. 2540-00-50) (Expenditure) and transfer to this account the amount required under the grant agreement and City Accounting Policy but not to exceed a 10 percent increase of the total amounts reserved for the grantor’s share and local share of $5,000, whichever is greater, as follows:
