Title
Resolution authorizing the Milwaukee Police Department to accept and expend a contribution of money from the Anti-Violence Crime Association of Wisconsin.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept and expend a contribution of $1,000 from AVCAW, to be used towards the cost of training detectives and police officers in the use of a GPS system tracked by laptop.
Body
Whereas, Section 304-24 of the City of Milwaukee Code of Ordinances regulates the receipt, appropriation and expenditure of contributions received by the City; and
Whereas, Anti-Violence Crime Association of Wisconsin (AVCAW) has offered to contribute $1,000 to the Milwaukee Police Department; and
Whereas, This contribution will assist the Milwaukee Police Department in GPS training; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City of Milwaukee Police Department is authorized to accept a contribution of $1,000 from AVCAW, and to expend such funds for said purpose; and, be it
Further Resolved, That upon receipt and deposit of these funds, the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to establish a special account within the budget for the expenditure of the contribution; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer appropriations and estimated revenue from the Contribution Fund-General, account number 0001-2110-D001-006300, and the estimated revenue account for contributions, account number 0001-2110--0001-009850 to the Police Department’s special account 0001-331-0001-Dxxx-006300, and the Police Department’s estimated revenue account 0001-3310-0001-9850 up to the amount of $1,000; and, be it
Further Resolved, That such authority to accept contributions for said purpose shall continue unless otherwise rescinded or amended by future Common Council action.
