Title

Substitute resolution relative to the application, acceptance and funding of the 2008 Consolidated Contract from the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services.

 

Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the 2008 Consolidated Contract from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services in the amount of $1,815,977 with a city share of $430,750 and a grantor share of $1,385,227.  The purpose of the contract is to continue programming in six service areas during 2008 under the Consolidated Contract allocations.

 

Body

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services for the 2008 Consolidated Contract; and

 

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 01/01/08 to 12/31/08 would cost $1,815,977 of which $430,750 (24%) would be provided by the city and $1,385,227 (76%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

 

 

1.  Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2008 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled 2008 Consolidated Contract:

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted to the Health Department which is authorized to:

 

1.  Expend from the amount budgeted sums for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date;

 

2.  Expend from the 2008 grant budget funds for specific items of equipment;

 

3.  Expend from the 2008 grant budget funds for training and out-of-town travel by departmental staff;

 

4.  Enter into subcontracts as detailed in the grant budget; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Common Council directs that the 2008 Positions Ordinance, C.C. File 070605, should be amended as follows:
