Analysis

This resolution directs the installation and construction of certain public improvements which have been determined to be nonassessable by the Commissioner of Public Works.  The City cost of the projects approved by this resolution is estimated to be $1,898,638.  The total estimated cost of these projects is $2,226,638.

Body

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and

 

Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:

 

4th Aldermanic District

 

N. Jefferson St. - E. St. Paul Ave. to E. Erie St. (SM499240028) File Number 250267: Installing bioswales. (Nonassessable Water Quality Fund -- $200,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $230,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2025 construction season.

 

4th and 15th Aldermanic Districts

 

W. Cherry St. - N. 24th St. to N. 26th St. and N. 17th St. - W. Highland Ave. to W. Walnut St. (SM499250009) Installing bioswales. (Nonassessable Water Quality Fund -- $270,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $270,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2026 construction season.

 

6th Aldermanic District

 

N. Pierce St. - 270’ +/- North of E. Meinecke Ave. to E. Wright St. (SM495240041) File Number 241191:  Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $113,000).  The total estimated cost of the project including the requested amount is $128,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2025 construction season.

N. 47th St. - W. Townsend St. to W. Keefe Ave. (SM495240043) File Number 241191: Relaying sanitary sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $168,000).  The total estimated cost of the project including the requested amount is $183,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2025 construction season.

Burnham Park Traffic Safety Improvements Project (SM499240031) File Number 241191: Installing bioswales. (Nonassessable Water Quality Fund -- $85,638). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $135,638. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2025 construction season.

 

10th Aldermanic District

 

N. 38th St. - W. Michigan St. to 300’ +/- North of W. Michigan St. (SM495250029) File Number 241616: Relaying sanitary sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $114,000). The total estimated cost of the project including the requested amount is $134,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2025 construction season.

S. 40th St. - W. Euclid Ave. to 210’ +/- South of W. Euclid Ave. (SM495240056) File Number 241329: Relaying sanitary and storm sewers. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $118,000).  The total estimated cost of the project including the requested amount is $133,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2025 construction season.

 

S. 41st St. - W. Euclid Ave. to 210’ +/- South of W. Euclid Ave. (SM495240057) File Number 241329:  Relaying sanitary and storm sewers. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $111,000).  The total estimated cost of the project including the requested amount is $126,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2025 construction season.

W. Abbott Ave. - 320’ East of S. 15th Pl. to 100’ East of S. 15th Pl. (SM495240065) File Number 241329: Relaying sanitary sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $57,000). The total estimated cost of the project including the requested amount is $69,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2025 construction season.

 

14th Aldermanic District

 

S. Delaware Ave. - 320’ +/- North of E. Morgan Ave. to E. Morgan Ave. (SM495240058) File Number 241329: Relaying sanitary sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $111,000).  The total estimated cost of the project including the requested amount is $126,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2025 construction season.

 

W. Oklahoma Ave. - 150’ +/- West of S. 16th St. to S. 20th St. (SM495250010) File Number 241471:  Sanitary sewer lining. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $131,000). The total estimated cost of the project including the requested amount is $146,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2025 construction season.

 

City Wide

 

City Wide Infiltration and Inflow Reduction Project (SM494230010) File Number 231298:  Lateral Replacements. (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $75,000). The total estimated cost of the project including the requested amount is $176,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2025 construction season.

 

City of St. Francis

 

E. Waterford Ave. - S. Kingan Ave. (East Line) to 150' South of E. Tesch Ave. (WT410250660) File Number 250403: Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $0.  Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $345,000.)  The total estimated cost of the project including the requested amount is $370,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2025 construction season.

 

now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
