Title
Substitute resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City engineering cost estimated to be $250,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $1,315,000.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable. After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council. The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $250,000 with the total cost estimated to be $1,315,000.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:
4th Aldermanic District
N. 8th St. - A point South of W. State St. to W. State St. (ST211180182): Concrete pavement reconstruction, replace curb and gutter and walk as necessary. (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $5,000). The total estimated cost of this project is $50,000. This project is estimated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.
City Wide
Handicap Ramp work to meet ADA requirements - High Impact 2018 Projects - second contract (ST216180108): (Nonassessable High Impact Streets -- $50,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $1,000,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.
2018 Sewer Structure Inspections (SM495180004): (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $10,000). The total estimated cost of this project is $40,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during 2018 construction season.
2018 Sewer Structure Requests (SM495180005): (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $10,000). The total estimated cost of this project is $50,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during 2018 construction season.

2018 Underwater Dive Inspection - Bridges (BR100180104): Federal and State mandated underwater dive safety inspection of in-service bridges. (City Share Non-assessable Structure Fund -- $175,000). The total estimated cost for this project is $175,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2018 construction season.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
