Analysis

This ordinance requires the applicant for a junk collector license to provide, on the application form, the year, make, model, vehicle weight and license plate number of the motor vehicle to be used in the conduct of the junk collector’s business.  It also provides that a junk collector may change the motor vehicle used in the conduct of the junk collector’s business if the junk collector files the required vehicle information with the city clerk and pays a fee of $25.   

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1.  Section 81-63-4 of the code is created to read:

 

81-63.  Junk Collector License.

 

4.  The fee to change the motor vehicle used in the conduct of a junk collector’s business shall be $25.

 

Part 2.  Section 92-3-3-d of the code is created to read:

 

92-3.  Junk Collectors and Dealers. 

 

3.  LICENSE REQUIRED.

 

d.  A separate junk collector’s license shall be required for each motor vehicle used in the conduct of a junk collector’s business.

 

Part 3.  Section 92-3-4-e of the code is renumbered 92-3-4-f.

 

Part 4.  Section 92-3-4-e of the code is created to read:

 

4.  APPLICATION.

 

e.  For a junk collector’s license application, the year, make, model, vehicle weight and license plate number of the motor vehicle to be used in the conduct of the junk collector’s business.

 

Part 5.  Section 92-3-6-e of the code is amended to read:

 

6.  ISSUANCE; TERMS.

 

e.  No such license shall be transferable.  >>However, the motor vehicle used in the conduct of a junk collector’s business may be changed in accordance with sub. 8-q.<<

 

Part 6.  Section 92-3-8-q of the code is created to read:

 

8.  REGULATIONS.

 

q.  Change of Motor Vehicle.  A junk collector may change the motor vehicle used in the conduct of the junk collector’s business if the junk collector files with the city clerk the information required by sub. 4-e and pays the applicable fee specified in s. 81-63.  The new motor vehicle shall comply with the sticker and signage requirements of par. n.
