Title
A substitute ordinance to further amend the 2018 rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service.
Analysis
This substitute ordinance changes the rates of pay in the following departments:
All departments, Dept. of City Development, Library, Municipal Court, Police, Department of Public Works

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 170680 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Pay Range 1MX, revise footnote “(4)” so that it reads “Pay Range 1OX” rather than “Pay Range 10X”.
Part 2. Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 170680 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 22, 2018 - October 21, 2018):
Under Pay Range 1BX, add footnote designation “(1)” to the title of “Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor”.
Part 3. Part 1, Section 2 of ordinance File Number 170680 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Pay Range 2GX, modify footnote “(10)” so that it reads:
“(10) Tory Kress is authorized at the rate of $2,800.80 biweekly and Mathew Reimer is authorized at the rate of $2,006.53 biweekly.”
Under Pay Range 2JX, delete footnote designation “(7)” from the title of “Early Childhood Program Director (2) (7)” and delete footnote “(7)” in its entirety.
Under Pay Range 2KX, delete the title of “Data Services Manager”.
Part 4. Part 1, Section 3 of ordinance File Number 170680 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Pay Range 3BN, delete footnote designation “(2)” from the titles of “Computer Operator I (2)” and “Television Production Specialist I (2)” and delete footnote “(2)” in its entirety.
Under Pay Range 3CN, delete footnote designation “(1)” from the title of “Computer Operator II (1)” and delete footnote “(1)” in its entirety.
Part 5. Part 1, Section 5 of ordinance File Number 170680 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Pay Range 5IN, remove the name “Elisa Marquez” from footnote “(6)”.
Part 6. Part 1, Section 5 of ordinance File Number 170680 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 20, 2018 - September 23, 2018):
Under Pay Range 5CN, add the title of “Parking Enforcement Officer”.
Under Pay Range 5EN, add the title of “Lead Parking Enforcement Officer”.
Part 7. Part 1, Section 6 of ordinance File Number 170680 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Pay Range 6EN, delete footnote designation “(1)” from the titles “Court Services Assistant II (1) (5)” and “Office Assistant II (1) (4) (5)” and delete footnote “(1)” in its entirety.
Under Pay Range 6FN, delete footnote designation “(1)” from the title “Communications Assistant I (1) (2) (8)” and delete footnote “(1)” in its entirety.
Under Pay Range 6FN, delete the title of “Data Entry Operator II (1) (3) (8)”.
Under Pay Range 6FN, delete footnote designation “(5)” from “Office Assistant III (3) (5) (9)” and delete footnote “(5)” in its entirety.
Under Pay Range 6GN, delete footnote designation “(2)” from the titles of “Accounting Assistant I (1) (2) (3)”, “Administrative Assistant I (1) (2) (3)”, “Clerk Stenographer III (2) (3) (4)”, and Personnel Payroll Assistant I (2) (3)”; and delete footnote “(2)” in its entirety.
Under Pay Range 6HN, delete footnote designation “(1)” from the titles of “Account Clerk II (1) (5)”, “Accounting Assistant II (1) (2) (5)”, “Office Assistant IV (1) (2) (5) (6)”, and “Personnel Payroll Assistant II (1) (5)”; and delete footnote “(1)” in its entirety.
Part 8. Part 1, Section 6 of ordinance File Number 170680 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 20, 2018 - September 23, 2018):
Under Pay Range 6GN, delete the title of “Parking Checker (6)” and delete footnote “(6)” in its entirety.
Under Pay Range 6IN, delete the title of “Lead Parking Checker (1)” and delete footnote “(1)” in its entirety.
Part 9. Part 1, Section 7 of ordinance File Number 170680 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Pay Range 7GN, delete the title of “Production Designer II (3)” and delete footnote “(3)” in its entirety.
Under Pay Range 7KN, delete the title of “Asphalt Plant Operating Engineer (1)” and delete footnote “(1)” in its entirety.
Part 10. Part 1, Section 8 of ordinance File Number 170680 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 22, 2018 - October 21, 2018):
Under Pay Range 8NN, amend footnote “(1)” to read as follows:
“(1) An employee assigned to operate the Sidewalk Tractor to be paid $2,179.05 biweekly ($56,655.30 annually). An employee assigned to operate the Sidewalk Tractor or Skid Steer during a General Ice Control/Snow Removal operation to be paid $2,234.12 biweekly ($58,087.12 annually).”
Under Pay Range 8ON, amend footnote “(1)” to read as follows:
“(1) An employee assigned to operate the End Loader (Road), Bulldozer (Road), Reach-All, Hydro Crane, or miscellaneous tractors to be paid $2,259.98 biweekly ($58,759.48 annually). An employee assigned to operate the Prentice Loader (PP 9-24) to be paid $2,276.00 ($59,176.00 annually). An employee assigned to operate the End Loader (GIC) or Prentice Loader (PP 25-8) to be paid $2,322.40 ($60,382.40 annually).”
Part 11. Part 1, Section 9 of ordinance File Number 170680 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 20, 2018 - September 23, 2018):
Under Pay Range 9MN, add the title of “Construction Laborer Intern” and replace the rates of pay table to read as follows:
Hourly 11.27
Biweekly 901.60
Annual 23,441.60
Part 12. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Part 13. The provisions of Parts 6, 8, and 11 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 20, 2018 (September 23, 2018).
Part 14. The provisions of Parts 2 and 10 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 22, 2018 (October 21, 2018).
The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after its passage and publication.
Part 15. This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
