Title

Substitute resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City engineering cost estimated to be $245,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $3,688,000.

Analysis

This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable.  After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council.  The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $245,000 with the total cost estimated to be $3,688,000.

Body

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:

 

4th Aldermanic District

 

N. 21st St. - W. Cherry St. to W. Galena St. (WT410070006):  Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $130,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

 

4th and 15th Aldermanic Districts

 

W. Galena St. - N. 21st St. to N. 22nd St. (WT410070005):  Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $135,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

 

9th Aldermanic District

 

N. 76th St. - W. Clinton Ave. to W. County Line Rd. (WT410070011):  Hydrant alteration prior to state paving. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $200,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

 

11th Aldermanic District

 

W. Lakefield Dr. - W. Paine St. to W. Morgan Ave. (WT410081058):  Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $25,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $275,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2008 construction season.

 

12th Aldermanic District

 

S. 15th Pl. - W. Mitchell St. to W. Burnham St. (SM495060015):  Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $10,000, additional funds).  File Number 051658 authorized $10,000.  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $153,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2008 construction season.

 

W. North Ave. - N. 31st St. to W. Lisbon Ave. (WT410080016):  Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $150,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $2,500,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2008 construction season.

 

N. 22nd St. - W. Galena St. to W. Walnut St. (WT410070004):  Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000).  The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $145,000.  This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

 

Various Aldermanic Districts

 

City Wide (SM495070096):  Relaying storm sewer.  The total estimated cost for this project is $150,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
