Whereas, On April 13, 2021, the Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 201480, authorizing the City Attorney to enter into a Contract for Legal Services between the City of Milwaukee and the Cade Law Group LLC for representation regarding former Police Chief Alfonso Morales’s claims against the City of Milwaukee; and
Whereas, The original agreement attached to the file authorized payment in the amount of $40,000; and
Whereas, The total cost of legal services exceeded the original authorization by $18,726.63 for a total of $58,726.63; and
Whereas, The City desires to pay the Cade Law Group LLC for its legal services; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Attorney is authorized to execute the First Amendment to Contract for Legal Services Between the City of Milwaukee and Cade Law Group, LLC, a copy of which is attached to this file, authorizing payment of $18,726.63 for legal services relating to former Police Chief Alfonso Morales’s claims against the City of Milwaukee.
