Whereas, Article 1 of the United States Constitution grants Congress the authority to declare war, and no such declaration of war has been authorized against Iran; and
Whereas, The attacks have increased gas and energy prices, which consequently cause the price of most other goods to increase as well; and
Whereas, The attacks have not made the United States safer in any meaningful sense; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City of Milwaukee condemns the United States’ attacks on the Islamic Republic of Iran; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City of Milwaukee urges all parties to the conflict to work towards a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
