The application seeks approval to sell the properties at fair market value. Ms. Dawson explained that adjoining property owners have expressed an interest in purchasing the vacant parcels and incorporating them into their existing homesteads. Commissioners raised questions regarding potential development opportunities for other vacant lots and suggested reaching out to other adjacent property owners to determine whether they may also be interested in purchasing the lots. WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (HACM) owns and manages more than 2,300 units of low-rent public housing under the terms of an Annual Contributions Contract with the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD); and

WHEREAS, HUD allows Public Housing Authorities to submit Disposition applications to dispose of all or part of public housing structures and land in excess of what is needed to operation efficiently;

WHEREAS, the parcels located at 2856 N. 34^th St. and 3125 N. 26^th St.  exceed the needs of the HACM and its residents; and,

WHEREAS, the Secretary-Executive Director recommends approving the submission by the Housing Authority of the Disposition application to remove the .19 acres of vacant land at 2856 N. 34^th St. and 3125 N. 26^th St.; and, therefore, let it be

RESOLVED, that the recommendation to submit the Disposition application to sell 2856 N. 34^th St. and 3125 N. 26^th St.at Fair Market Value is hereby accepted; and be it

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Secretary-Executive Director is hereby authorized to take whatever action is necessary to complete the submission of the Disposition application for .19 acres of vacant land at 2856 N. 34^th St. and 3125 N. 26^th St. and have said properties removed from its inventory.
