PURPOSE: To study the issues of taxicab vehicle and driver standards and to recommend specific actions and policies for improving taxicab services in the City of Milwaukee.
COMPOSITION: 10 members:
a) 1 Common Council member appointed by the Common Council President and designated as co-chairperson
b) 1 representative of the hotel industry appointed by the Common Council President and designated as co-chairperson
c) 2 representatives of the taxicab industry, or designees, appointed by the Mayor
d) 1 representative of the downtown restaurant industry, appointed by theCommon Council President
e) 1 representative of the business community who is experienced in the facilitation of corporate meetings, appointed by the Common Council President
f) Manager of Parking and Ground Transportation for General Mitchell International Airport
g) Executive Director of Milwaukee Downtown Business Improvement District #21
h) Service Director of the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts
i) President and Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Milwaukee
Convention & Visitors Bureau, or designee
