PURPOSE: Recommend policies and guidelines to the Mayor and Common Council for management of the City's information resources; promote interdepartmental and intergovernmental sharing of information resources and promulgate guidelines for development and maintenance of City records.

COMPOSITION: 18 members: Mayor; a member of the Common Council (designated Chair of the Committee) appointed by the Council President; City Comptroller; City Treasurer; City Clerk; Director of Administration; City Librarian; Commissioner of Public Works; the chiefs of the Fire and Police Departments; the emergency communications director; the commissioner of city development; the commissioner of public works; the employee relations director; the commissioner of health; and the commissioner of neighborhood services. Each member, except the common council member and the chief information officer, may appoint a designee. A designee may be appointed if one of the following applies: a. The designee has direct oversight of technology, records, or information management in his or her department; b. The designee reports to the member or to a division head; c. The designee is approved by the chair. Each member except the common council member and the chief information officer, may name an alternate. Alternates shall meet the same requirements as a designee.
