PURPOSE: Hear and decide appeals from the Commissioner of the Department of City Development as may arise under the interpretation and enforcement of the City's or State's zoning regulations.
COMPOSITION: Five members, residents of the city, holding no public office and who are not public employees, appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Common Council for three-year terms. The Mayor shall also select two additional members to serve as alternates (designated annually as a 1st and 2nd alternate), to serve three-year terms. At least one member must be licensed to practice law in the State of Wisconsin. The Mayor designates one member as Chair.
A member continues to serve after the completion of his or her term until reappointed or until a successor has been appointed.
Due to the nature of the business conducted by this body, members are required to file a Statement of Economic Interests with the Board of Ethics.

SALARY: Chairman/Adm. Officer - $1,986.39 biweekly. Members and alternate member - $161.54 biweekly.
