PURPOSE: To develop a vision for the lakefront as well as an on-going method and a set of standards for evaluating and measuring proposed lakefront developments.

COMPOSITION: Seventeen total members; eight of whom are government members and nine of whom are citizens from the public at large. One of the government members must be a member of the Common Council appointed by the Common Council president. Two of the citizen members are appointed by the Mayor. Of these citizens, one must be from the area of the City north of Interstate 94. The other must be from the area of the City south of Interstate 94.

Citizen members serve two-year terms, staggered.

A member who is not an elected official continues to serve after the completion of his or her term until reappointed or until a successor has been appointed.

CREATING AUTHORITY: The participation of the City of Milwaukee is governed by Common Council File Number 040670, adopted September 21, 2004. Milwaukee County's resolution is 03-360.
