My wife, Sandy, and I are very concerned with many aspects of the proposed building plan on this site. In particular, we are concerned with the size and placement of the new building. The neighborhood currently has an appropriate mix of buildings and open spaces making it very attractive to a wide variety of people. Adding a building that is so oversized relative to others in the area would significantly change the balance people currently enjoy. Over populating the neighborhood with oversized buildings is not in the best interest for this area or Milwaukee. We are also very concerned with the proposed placement of the building. Because of the desire to preserve the Goll Manson, the proposed site significantly impinges on the existing bluff. Along with inevitable negative environmental impact this would have on the bluff itself, the damage to the existing city scape and the Oak Leaf Trail would be irrevocable. Again, we urge you to reject the change in zoning for a new Detailed Planned Development for a multi-family residential development at 1550 North Prospect Avenue.
