Stamper Honorable Members: I whole-heartedly object to the proposed development at 1550 N. Prospect Avenue. I’m 66 years old and have lived in the Milwaukee area all of my life — with the last 15 years on Prospect Avenue. I chose this neighborhood for many reasons, primarily for its superb quality of life. The proposed zoning change will have a negative impact on residents, visitors, pedestrians, bicyclists, runners, and those who simply enjoy the present ambiance that this immediate area offers. We don’t want the excessive increased motor vehicle traffic, noise, pollution, commotion, congestion, and severe parking issues. The proposed building is blatantly too large for the lot size. It obviously doesn’t fit next to the Goll Mansion. While I understand change, this change is inappropriate. It offers nothing to the unique characteristics of this presently gorgeous neighborhood. I believe you, as members of the Committee, also clearly see that it doesn’t make sense to approve the new incongruous detailed planned development for this site.
