Dear Alderman Bauman:

 

The Avenues West Association supports the anticipated lane repainting by the Department of Public Works which will result in one lane in each direction on West Wells and West State. This should result in increased safety for drivers and pedestrians with little slowing of the traffic. It also appears to be consistent with traffic flows as recommended in the Near West Side Comprehensive Plan.

 

We assume, and hope, that provisions are included for left turn lanes where necessary to ensure traffic movement.  Thank you for representing our interests on this item.
