Humboldt Ave. Good morning, I am unable to attend the 1:30 p.m. Special Joint Meeting with City Plan Commission and Historic Preservation Commission, and request that my comments be considered when making a decision and to please have them added to the record. I am a residential property owner and resident of 830 E. Brady St. and residential property owner of 1515-17 N. Franklin Place, and oppose all current rezoning plans proposed for 1701-11 and 1717-19 N. Humboldt Ave. The current zoning is appropriate for this neighborhood, and any developer who wishes to build on this land should follow the current zoning. The current zoning has the necessary controls in place for thoughtful development that blends with the neighborhood. The rezoning would put undue pressure within this intersection and the entire neighborhood: the proposed 60% increase in density over the current zoning is too much for this neighborhood to handle. If the developer sees such great potential in our neighborhood, then they should submit plans that follow the current zoning. Also, if this rezoning receives approval, the proposed architectural plans for these properties are a complete embarrassment for the Brady Street neighborhood and the City of Milwaukee. The current designs, even after several so-called modifications, are insulting to the current fabric of our historic neighborhood. On July 29, 2015, Ald. Kovak graciously held a neighborhood meeting to see the plans and hear from the developers and residents. Some 100 concerned neighbors came to this meeting, and although a straw poll was not taken, attendees at this meeting were overwhelmingly opposed to these plans, which can be attributed to both their comments and the support the opposers received from their neighbors. We have zoning, historical and architectural guidelines that circumvent poor development plans. I respectfully ask you to do the right thing and reject all current plans that are before your respective commissions. Respectfully, Jeff Jones 830 E.
