[mailto:thats.swelll@gmail.com] Sent: Wednesday, November 12, 2014 8:23 AM To: Perez, Jose; Bohl, James; Wade, Willie; rbauman@milwaukee.gov; Kovac, Nik Subject: Mandatory Building Inspection Proposal There is a hearing today about the inspection proposal, but I am unable to attend. I would very much appreciate if my voice could be considered when you are at the meeting. I am a landlord of 2 properties and live in one duplex that is in the Lincoln Village area. I am highly opposed of the proposal that is on the table about mandatory inspections. I don't see the point/goal of what will be accomplished if this is passed. I firmly believe landlords that don't upkeep their properties should be held accountable...but that is what the DNS is for, going around and inspecting troubled homes. A mandatory inspection where home owners are expected to pay for things that existed when they bought the property is wrong and will make being a landlord not profitable. A possible alternative solution is perhaps to gather lists of properties with severe issues and attack it from the community level first. This way we the community/neighbors/renters/owners can see if we can bond together and help each other with repairs in a barter/exchange type of approach. We are all responsible. The SOC is a great resource and could be utilized with this idea. Thank you, Tanya Krolicki 2239 S 6th St Milwaukee 53215 414-810-8608
