Hereby is some brief information for Guangdong Province in China:
Guangdong, a province on the southern coast of People's Republic of China and directly next to Hong Kong, is one of China's most prosperous provinces. With a population of 79 million, it is ranked the third larges t province and its GDP has topped provincial rankings since 1989.Guangdong province has the third highest GDP per capita in China and contributes 12% of China's national economic output. It is the home to production facilities and offices of a wide-ranging set of multinational and Chinese corporations.

Since Chinese government's open door policy in 1978, Guangdong was the first province to implement reforms following the advent of China's open door policy in 1978 and its access to the ports, proximity to Hong Kong, and historical links to overseas Chinese has contributed to its economic development. Its economy is currently dominated by manufacturing and export. Its economic growth, as elsewhere in China, has been based on labor intensive manufacturing that is characterized by high consumption of energy, low value-added products, contributing to a high level of environmental degradation. Guangdong province is now looking to transition from a manufacturing-based economy to a service-based economy, as exemplified by most developed economies.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and I'll be looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you,

Annie Yuan
