From: Mark Roeker Sent: Thursday, January 18, 2024 9:30 AM To: Owczarski, Jim; Elmer, Linda Subject: Temporary Historic Designation for 3035 W Wisconsin Avenue Dear to who it concerns, I have previously submitted a written comment relating to the above property. This email is a supplement to that initial comment. I failed to mention that I own the property at 3121 W Wisconsin Ave which is significantly affected by the process you are currently involved in. I was never notified of a public meeting on January 17th. The letter that was sent to me does not indicate it is a public meeting, nor does it mention that we are allowed to attend. The second paragraph of the notice practically discourages anyone from attending the meeting. I would also like to put my support behind Berrata Properties who has taken several buildings in the area and have improved them. They have taken long time vacant buildings and have done the work to bring them up to code and make them viable living spaces. It almost seems punitive that out of nowhere they are being targeted by one citizen to make an historic designation on a property that is in an area where I can point to at least a 1/2 dozen vacant rundown buildings. If Jim Dieter thinks they should now jump through hoops to repair a façade, or repair a gutter system or replace windows then perhaps he should do the work that Berrata Properties has done to improve the Wisconsin Avenue corridor. Imformationally, I have never met anyone from Berrata Properties nor do I have any connection to them whatsoever. Regards, Mark Roeker 4146992027
