To whom it may
concern,
We own and operate a property in the
neighborhood and know that the area needs the economic boost far more than
preserving buildings which are NOT historic, just old. These buildings have no
historic value (ala the grain exchange, etc) and have been already altered
greatly over their lifespan so we cant say that saving them is retaining the
originals.
We are all in support of preserving
truly historic properties in our city however, the buildings in question are
of that category. On the flip side, we will be able to gain great economic
impact and help revitalize this area of our city (which DESPERATELY needs it) by
letting the hotel project proceed. Best of all, it is all private money funding
the project.
