Dear Alderman Bauman

A vital part of Milwaukee's architectural interest and charm resides in the fact that at least some of it's historic 19th century buildings remain intact in our downtown area.  I am strongly against the demolition of the five buildings, 319-325 E. Wisconsin Ave., 327 E. Wis. Ave., 62, 627, 629-631 and 633 N. Milwaukee in the East Side Commercial Historic District.

I am in favor of a healthy and vibrant downtown.  But demolishing some of the buildings that truly give character to our city would not only be very short-sighted, but also do irreparable harm.

I strongly urge you to vote against this proposal.

Thank you for your kind attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

Barbara Leigh
