I live within 300 feet of this pergola request. File #220163.

Here is my problem with the request. The residents built the pergola very shortly after they moved in 
over 1.5 years ago apparently without getting approval from the North Lake Drive Historic District. 
They did not get permission to change ; they simply built it. 

Perhaps the pergola is not inappropriate in looks but what it is being used for is. It became a meeting 
place for groups of women on a regular basis. 
Their children also accompanied them. 
The house itself and the pergola are apparently extensions of the synagogue across the street. 
I think that is the inappropriate part. 
We are zoned single family on this block. I do not believe houses or the outdoor extensions should be 
used for public events.

Thank you for any help you can give in terms of informing this couple about the zoning laws.
