To whom it may concern, 

I urge you to designate Columbia Hospital as historic. They just don't make buildings like this 
anymore, and the loss to Milwaukee's fabric would be both irreplaceable and devastating. 

We all know that this building is salvageable, and that restoring it will provide well-paying 
construction jobs that cannot be outsourced. 

On a personal note, I grew up down the street, on Hartford Avenue, and this hospital played a 
role in my family's life, as well as that of countless others. My mother, longtime civic leader 
Marcia Coles, breathed her final breath there back in 2008.

This building deserves a new life, and would function well as a dormitory, apartments, offices, 
etc. Please do not let it fall to the wrecking ball.
