Thank you. Dear Historic Preservation Commission, A note of support on the proposed new house at 116 E Vine St (File #211139). My husband and I live in the immediate block to the east at 102 E Vine Street. We've been residents of our historic home for the past 10 years. We are in full support of the proposed house design and materials, as seen in the plans included with the file. The proposed house provides architectural character, a variety of building materials, and is proportional to the shape of the vacant lot. Designing houses with both an alley and primary street frontage can be challenging, but we feel the proposed design will complement the existing historic houses along Vine Street. Anytime a vacant lot can be built as an owner occupied single family in the City of Milwaukee, this needs to be a concise and easy process. We simply have far too many challenges facing our City to delay construction of new houses, especially when there are committed owners following the City process that are able and willing to invest and contribute to our great neighborhood. The intent of the Brewers Hill Design Study appears to be met for new construction with the proposed house and we strongly encourage the HPC to approve the house as proposed. Respectfully submitted, Molly and Ashley Booth 102 E Vine Street
