As you are aware, the committee comprising of Ald. Bauman, Witkowiak, Wade, Dudzik, and Puente recently voted 3-2 in favor of adding sidewalks as part of the repaving project for Good Hope Rd. west of 91st St. in our district.  It is very disappointing that the three alderman voted to install these sidewalks when your staff representative made it very clear that your constituents overwhelmingly oppose the sidewalks.

 

You and I both know that sidewalks don't fit into the rural look and feel that attracts us to the Northwest part of Milwaukee.  The three alderman were looking at maps of Good Hope Rd., west of 91st St.  They have no clue of our district and neighborhoods.  I strongly encourage you to be present for any final voting on this issue.  As our representative, you need to convince these alderman that your constituents are serious and strongly oppose the dramatic changes to our district, not theirs.  I am confident you'll have your boxing gloves on and protect our district.  By the way, I don't even live on the affected street.  It just doesn't work in our setting.
