Isabel Sternberg Dear Linda Elmer, Office of the City Clerk, Thank you for the notification regarding the fence request at 2424 N. Grant Boulevard within the Grant Boulevard Historic District. As homeowners at 2400 N. Grant Boulevard for over 20 years, we strongly disagree with and object to this request. Our historic district, listed on the National and State Register since 1994, is defined by its visually appealing, unfenced front yards. This has been the standard for over 30 years, contributing significantly to our curb appeal and property values – key reasons we chose and remain in this neighborhood. We are concerned that introducing front yard fences could: * Detract from the established visual appeal of our historic homes. * Lead to maintenance issues, negatively impacting the neighborhood's aesthetic. * Potentially cause boundary disputes. * Raise questions about maintenance responsibilities and shared costs. * Conflict with the defining unfenced character of our historic district. Given the historic designation and the long-standing absence of front yard fences, we respectfully request that this fence request be denied. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, Mr. & Mrs. Jefferson 2400 N. Grant Blvd.
