| | 2. | | Climate and Equity Plan (CEP) draft
Minutes note: Walwema reported that a draft of the CEP will be released to the Work Group Chairs on Monday, September 26. Feedback from them is due to Walwema on October 26. Walwema noted that GRAEF was able to include some of the survey comments in the CEP, but we are welcome to suggest others if they seem more appropriate. Shambarger would like photos included in the draft if possible.
Walwema will send a draft of the proposed survey to Evans on September 23.
McCalister will load the revised CEP and survey onto Social Pinpoint by October 12 to meet the public release target date of October 13. | | | |

Minutes note: The Sept- Dec 2022 timeline was reviewed. Outreach is planning two Town Halls for October, but that may affect the timeline for submission to the Common Council and Planning Commission. There is a question about moving everything forward one month.
Wiggins questioned whether it is better to submit a draft to the Common Council in case they have changes to make, but Shambarger noted that it is important to make sure the environmental community is on-board with the plan. It was agreed to extend the dates for submission to the Common Council and City Planning Commission if possible.
Shambarger asked Powell to work with Evans to update the timeline and make sure we have the correct dates.
? Greening our Electricity is being offered on September 27 at 6:30PM. Kanthi and Martin will handle the chat.

? October 25 and 27 Town Halls – planning by the Outreach Team is underway for two events – possibly hybrid -- to be held on the north and south sides of town. The plan is to offer them onsite at local libraries (Mitchell and Washington Park) or other community sites in communities of color, close to public transportation and free parking. Powell announced that she had reserved Centennial Hall. It was decided this can be a back-up location. McAlister has devised a plan to enable translation services during one of the sessions, which she is investigating with library staff. Volunteers will be needed for calls and setup.

Minutes note: Evans reported that Severson is assisting in coalition planning, including a draft plan and Alder voting map. October will focus on calls to potential steering committee members. To make the coalition more inclusive and broadly based, we will also reach out to neighborhood association and religious organizations. EOWG members are encouraged to help with research and phone contacts.

? Wisconsin State Summit and Climate Fast Forward Conference
Minutes note: Powell introduced Melika Edquist, a consultant with the Clean Energy Foundation. Edquist is working with Walnut Way, Clean Wi, Sierra Club, ACE, Citizen Action, and other organizations to plan the nonpartisan Wisconsin Clean Economy Coalition. She discussed the purpose and structure of this group, which has been one and a half years in the planning. Their bias is toward policy action across the state. Their Six Policy Pillars align in many respects with the Ten Big Ideas of the CEP.
The November Coalition Summit planned for after the elections will highlight some local accomplishments, assess needs going forward, and consider key policy choices. | | | |
