T195 02.Travaux ResolutionReport from the President

Minutes note: Warren Jones, Travaux’s Vice President of Construction, updated the Board on the construction progress for Westlawn Gardens-Phase 2, Holton Terrace LLC, Merrill Park, LLC, Becher Court LLC, and various Housing Authority sites. Staff answered Director’s questions regarding the installation of modular houses at the Westlawn Gardens site. Willie Hines, Jr., Travaux’s Acting President, noted news media reports on channels FOX6 Milwaukee and WISN12 News regarding a rodent issue at Westlawn Gardens. HACM is working with the City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works Sanitation Division to insure that there are enough garbage bins on the site. In addition, the Department of Neighborhood Services is baiting the sewers and any holes that could house rodents, they issued citations and issuances to adjacent businesses for excess trash and debris surrounding their garbage bins. Westlawn Gardens’ contracted maintenance crew will be looking at the eastern areas of Westlawn Gardens as well as future construction sites for rodent holes or burrows. Director Wagner asked that Mr. Jones send the Directors a schedule of the installation of the modular houses.
