Their essentially allowing members to use accrued absence time as well as Family Medical Leave of Absence (FMLA) time, not only to care for themselves if they become ill, but also their families". Acting Chief Michael J. Brunson clarified that this Standard Operating Procedure only allows civilian members to do so.
