The Executive Director clarified that the minutes are private facing for the commissioners and do not become public until the board approves them. Minutes note: The Executive Director notified the Chair that Commissioner Steven DeVougas had to drop off from the call but he would make whatever date the commissioners decide would work. Commissioner Angela McKenzie had no preference at this time and had to drop off from the call so, she will make herself available if necessary once the decision is made. The commission will hold the interviews of the 6 finalists on Monday October 19th, 2020. The duration of the interviews will be between 30 min/half hour to 45 minutes. Each commissioner will come up with at least 2 questions. Commissioner Fred Crouther accepted two of the questions from Commissioner Everett Cocroft. This process will allow staff to begin arranging for the technology that will be used to hold these interviews as well as for the order of the candidates. The interviews will be noticed for Monday October 19th at 5:00PM Executive Session. The meeting will start in open and take a motion to go into closed session. This meeting will be virtual. Commissioner Everett Cocroft made the suggestion to publish the process for Monday either on the website or a press release to provide clarity the public.The Chair agreed that a press release is done for the process on Monday based on the meeting tonight.The Executive Director will draft and send to commissioners for approval before sending out the press release. The Chair made a final request to all commissioners to ensure that they have their web cameras on their devices turned on so that the candidates can see who they are and meet them for the interviews.
