| 0 | 3. | Housing Authority Resolution | Report from the Secretary-Executive Director
Minutes note: Mr. Pérez asked Bobbi Marsells, HACM’s Assistant Secretary, to give a summary of the Housing Authority City of Milwaukee’s (HACM) Request for Proposals (RFP) for a Choice Neighborhood Implementation Grant application for the College Court neighborhood. Ms. Marsells stated that HACM will be working with Torti Gallas + Partners in identifying a family development eligible to submit an application. Commissioners discussed the challenges in identifying a family development and the boundaries associated with the application.
Mr. Pérez directed the Board to a letter regarding hazard pay that was mailed to eligible employees. The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act grant was received by HACM through the U.S. Department Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for hazard pay, safety equipment and supplies. These additional funds will help to assist departments to maintain minimum staffing in positions that carry a regular, prolonged and repeated risk of exposure to the COVID-19 virus.
Mr. Pérez asked Fernando Aniban, HACM’s Chief Financial Officer, for a summary of the CARES Act funding. Mr. Aniban informed the Board that HACM received additional funding, including administrative fees to pay COVID-19 related expenses, like the hazard pay. Mr. Aniban stated that the Rent Assistance Program received $710,000 and Public Housing received $936,000.
Chair Wagner concluded by thanking Commissioner Daniels for her nomination and thanking HACM staff for their support.
