Minutes note: Ms. Morris stated a presentation was given by Black Cat Alley for murals by 2 local artists. She moved to fund Black Cat Alley at $3,000, with $1,500 going to each artist, seconded by Ms. Garcia. There were no objections.
Ms. Morris stated not all the New Work Fund money was allocated and she is considering opening a second round of applications later in the year. | | | |

Minutes note: Mr. DeLind stated grant requests were reviewed by the panel last Thursday, with the following recommendations for funding at $3,500 Signature Dance Company, Girls Rock Milwaukee, Milwaukee Youth Theatre, Quasimondo Physical Theatre, and Ruach, Inc.; and for funding at $7,000 In Tandem Theatre, Early Music Now, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, Skylight Music Theatre, TBEY, Wild SPace Inc., Radio Milwaukee, Woodland Pattern, Milwaukee Film, Jewish Museum Milwaukee, Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, Walker's Point Center for the Arts, First Stage, Express Yourself Milwaukee, Optimist Theatre,String Academy of Milwaukee, Next Act Theatre, Milwaukee Ballet, Milwaukee Art Museum, Artists Working in Education, Historic Milwaukee, Florentine Opera, Black Arts Mke, Danceworks, Haggerty Museum of Art, Milwaukee Public Theatre, Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, PianoArts of Wisconsin, Renaissance Theaterworks, and Milwaukee Artist Resource Network. Mr. DeLind moved approval of the funding recommendations, seconded by Mr. Flores. Ms. Garcia abstained from voting on the Walker's Point Center for the Arts. Ms. Morris abstained from voting on the Walker's Point Center for the Arts and the Haggerty Museum of Art. Ms. Layden abstained from voting on Milwaukee Film and the Haggerty Museum of Art. There were no objections. Ald. Murphy thanked all the members of the grant panel for their hard work. Minutes note: Mr. DeLind stated on May 24th the Milwaukee County Zoological Society is announcing an expansion of the elephant safari and there will be 50 beasties on safari trhoughout the zoo as well.
Ald. Murphy stated the Tony Gregg statue infront of City Hall will be unvailed soon.
Ms. Layden stated the Haggerty will have a Nohl Fellow exhibition on June 7th.
